WIP: The USB Dresser

Not too long ago, I acquired this decent looking dresser. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, it just seemed like the kind of dresser you could find anywhere. So I had to change that.

I’m not sure why I felt the need to mod it, I just did. And my brain was kind enough to supply me with some pretty good ideas.

Quick walk-through: I took out the top drawer, boxed in where the drawer went to make a shelf. Then, with the help of my father in law Allan, we cut a hole on the top and put in a USB wall outlet. Throw in a paint job and trimming a brass faceplate, and here’s the result.

Here’s a close up of the top of the dresser. Just plug your electronics right into my dresser.

So, it’s still a work in progress because there isn’t any hardware on it. I’m saving my nickels and dimes and putting in these antique-looking drop pulls.
