One of the hardest things, I’ve found, is getting that character in your writing just right. All writers struggle with that at some point. Either we spend time poring over questionnaires and drafting this long character sheets, or take a pre-existing character and add a couple of tweaks.

Which one do you prefer? Have you found pre-existing characters used that worked? How about truly original characters?
