James Patten: The best computer interface? Maybe … your hands

James Patten: The best computer interface? Maybe … your hands #TED : http://on.ted.com/qsmT

I just watched this TED talk and the concept and technology James Patten brings to the table is beautiful. I don’t usually talk about technology with very emotional aesthetics. I gag when I hear a car or a computer being called sexy.

This isn’t anime, people.

But the physical interaction with the digital opened up a whole new realm of what’s capable with both and future technology. How easy would it be to update a system by adding a few more of these disc-shaped robots or even robots of different designs? Think of the third party builds that could be created in both the design of the screen and the robots themselves.

Then, as an author, think of what can be done.

I saw the game that was being played and first thought of Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.
